Lilongwe Media Stars Holds Silver Strikers Legends

Silver Strikers Legends  football club  on Sunday 1st May 2011 were held to a draw game by Lilongwe Media Stars at a game marking an historical launch of Branding Jersey launch for the Bankers main team.

The historical grand launch took place at Silver Stadium where Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Lucious Kanyumba was the guest of honour.

Several activities marking the launch took place and among them was a penalty shoot out competition, social football between Silver Strikers legends and Media Stars of Lilongwe and the biggest of all was a soccer match between the current Silver Strikers and Blue Eagles.

The game between media stars and Silver legends ended 1-1. The legends scored their goal towards the end of the first half through Francis Songo before the media stars equalized in the dying minutes of the game through an own goal from Songo following a piercing hard and low cross on the right flank.

The   Silver Strikers legends with big names in the likes of Young "yugo" Chimodzi, Lyton Mangani, Lovemore Fazili, Noah Lambulira, Nyadani Billy, Moffat "Monya" Simsamala and Shangy terrorised the Lilongwe Media Stars team, giving new blood to the team Francisco Mpambe Jnr and Precious Msosa a tough time to mark.

Mike Bango, Elijah Phimbi and the man on posts Shara manged to withstand the heat from the X-men.
